E&S unleashes world's highest res projector

ImageImaging specialists Evans & Sutherland (E&S) has developed a 8K x 4K pixel laser projector which it will offer to research labs, control rooms, creative studios and indoor venues. The ESLP 8K is the world's highest resolution production video projector, and is claimed to present a fidelity that 'exceeds the limits of the human eye'.

TI offers 4K option for DLP cinema exhibitors

ImageThe chip manufacturer will incorporate enhanced 4K technology into its next-generation electronics platform for DLP Cinema projectors, writes Adrian Pennington. The technology will be extended to licensees Barco, Christie Digital and NEC, which in turn broadens the range of products to exhibitors to over 12 projector models.

Christie makes Finnish D-cinema debut

ImageThe manufacturer has sold 10 CP2000-XB split-body 2K DLP projectors to Finnkino, one of the largest cinema chain operators in the Nordic region, to further its roll-out of DCI-compliant screening rooms, writes Adrian Pennington. Despite the company's huge global market share in D-cinema projection, this order represents Christie's entry into the Finnish market.

ImageCrestron has released a set of matrix switchers for managing, controlling and distributing all analogue and uncompressed digital content over twisted pair or fibre cabling, writes Adrian Pennington. The company first designed products with HDMI technology over five years ago, but DigitalMedia (DM) is an evolutionary system that can accept virtually every signal type and transmit them long distance as digital signals.
